POSITION  : OFFSHORE STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

REQUIRED WORKING SKILLS/QUALIFICATION/SERTIFICATION

  1. Fabrication and installation techniques. Familiarity with fabrication and installation techniques in order to ensure effective inter-function relationships in the entire EPIC chain, understand and follow compliance with project requirements, correctly define the quality and timing of deliverables (engineering and procurement), correctly define the quality and timing of deliverables (engineering and procurement), monitor deviation from planned workflow and deliverables reception, correctly activating the management of change process to implement the best corrective actions (to support fabrication at site and grant correct project execution).
  2. Engineering design activities. Knowledge of Discipline engineering design criteria, methods and workflows from conceptual phase up to site engineering phase. Capability to define the technical documents set based on Project quantities and scope of work. Capability to perform and coordinate Project engineering documents production activities and to check and review design documents, prepared either internally or by Vendors.
  3. Engineering standard codes and regulations. Knowledge of main international Discipline standards, codes, and regulations. Capability to analyse dedicated Project requirements in terms of local standards and codes and to identify proper implementation actions. When required by the role, ability to manage the resolution of Engineering Non-Conformity (NCR) at site supporting Construction and / or Fabrication activities effectively interfacing project Team, Client and Vendor.
  4. Quantity estimation for engineering disciplines. Capability to define the Project general rules and guidelines for Discipline quantities estimation either on Bid Projects or on Projects in execution, according to corporate design standards, procedures, methods and tools. Capability to control and ensure the correct application of the general rules and guidelines by all team members and all subcontractors involved in quantity definition activities.
  5. Engineering project documents management. Capability to analyze engineering documents (e.g. Instruction to Tender, Saipem and subcontractor documents, etc.) identifying improvement areas in terms of cost/time optimization.
  6. Engineering reporting techniques. Capability to monitor and control the engineering progress and schedule. Contribute to Project reporting for the relevant engineering part
  7. Engineering technical software tools. User level knowledge of Corporate and Operating Center Discipline technical design software tools. User level knowledge of Corporate and Operating Center IT tools supporting business processes such as electronic document system management, procurement and office automation applications.
  8. Platform and modules design. Specific knowledge of offshore platform and modules design especially in terms of process, structural, layout, topside equipment, handling, mechanical, materials and piping. Capability to propose engineering solutions aiming at identifying optimized configurations to be transported and installed with available marine vessels/marine spread, minimizing offshore hook-ups and optimizing construction sequences and methodology. Capability to ensure the carrying out of engineering activities for the offshore system of competence, functional to the execution of the detail design, procurement of materials, construction, and installation activities.
  9. HSE Work Practices. Knowledge of the main risks during the operation activities and safe working and environmental protection procedures/practices & rules to be applied. Knowledge of adequate Personal Protective Equipment - purpose, use and maintenance Knowledge and the correct use of Permit to Work system.

BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTIONS

  1. Perform technical tasks assigned by the Project Structural Lead such as structural analyses, calculations, design, verification, or study activities.
  2. Interface with other Project Specialists and Designers.
  3. Co-ordinate and review technical activities performed inside or outside Saipem.
  4. Review Client technical documentation and requirements.
  5. Contribute in defining structural design premises.
  6. Contribute to the writing of the Project Structural Design Brief (roadmap of all the structural design and analyses work on the project).
  7. Liaise with other Project Specialists and Designers whenever required for a proper completion of the work assigned.
  8. Design structural systems and components, pursuing objectives of sound engineering and design optimization in term of costs, fabrication simplicity, constructability, and safety.
  9. Carry out/Check/Supervise structural analyses.
  10. Supervise/Approve steel structures design drawings.
  11. Supervise setting up of bill of quantities or material take off (MTO).
  12. Prepare, when required, specifications for structural fabrications and all related items such as bearing systems, bolts, cladding, grating, etc.
  13. Verify structural strength or dynamic behaviour of items designed by others (piping support Specialists, Vendors, technical building Suppliers, etc.).
  14. Apply the Quality Control Procedure of the Offshore Structural Department during the work assigned.
  15. Perform field engineering activities.
  16. Write design reports and calculation notes.

POSITION  : PIPING AND LAYOUT ENGINEER

Department/Project : ENGINEERING Education  : University Graduate from on Technical Major Working Experiences : More than 5 years in similar position or similar field Work location   : Jakarta

REQUIRED WORKING SKILLS/QUALIFICATION/SERTIFICATION

  1. FPSO/FLNG and FSRU systems. Knowledge in conversion and/or new built floater design, involving mainly oil and gas upstream and gas liquefaction technologies and related utility systems, with mainly a module design approach. Have a specific knowledge of the fabrication, naval, T and I requirements and other naval design ancillaries such as turret and mooring, related to project engineering execution. A strong background on Statutory Regulations and the understanding of Industry Practice, in the specific segment of FPSO, FLNG and FSRU, is required. Be specialized also in the following areas: Top Side, Marine and Naval, Mooring / Installation / SURF, maintaining the attitude for the high-level analysis in order to optimize the integration during facility design.
  2. Engineering design activities. Knowledge of Discipline engineering design criteria, methods and workflows from conceptual phase up to site engineering phase.   12. 2D and 3D modelling. Knowledge of tools related to 2D and 3D modelling activities.
  13. Engineering technical software tools. User level knowledge of Corporate and Operating Center Discipline technical design software tools. User level knowledge of Corporate and Operating Center IT tools supporting business processes such as electronic document system management, procurement and office automation applications.
  14. P and IDs mechanization. Capability to design and coordinate P&IDs for related systems. Full knowledge of Discipline workflow and of Discipline mechanization procedures and criteria. Full knowledge of Discipline P&IDs mechanization battery limits.
  15. Material engineering. Knowledge of the principles of metallurgy and materials science. Knowledge of the main metallic (and non-metallic) materials used in the upstream and downstream Oil and Gas sectors, their chemical, physical and mechanical properties, their applicability, limitations and costs and other relevant features e.g. market availability, shop and field fabrication, joining methods, etc. Knowledge of manufacturing processes of products used in the upstream and downstream Oil and Gas sectors in different materials, such as: steel making, hot and cold forming (e.g. rolling, forging, drawing, extrusion, casting, etc.), heat treatment, welding and finishing operations and their influence on final mechanical and corrosion resistance properties. Ability to draft Product Specifications for components used in the upstream and downstream Oil and Gas sectors, such as line pipes, hot induction bends, flanges and fittings, forgings, etc.. and knowledge of impacts of products properties on SAIPEM processes and technologies. Knowledge of materials suppliers in the upstream and downstream Oil and Gas sectors, their capabilities and limitations. Ability to review suppliers' offers, perform technical alignments and evaluations and participate to technical meetings. Knowledge of materials destructive and non-destructive test methods used during products manufacturing, their applicability and limitations. Knowledge of the main applicable Industry materials International standards and codes (such as ASME, API, ASTM, ISO, DNVGL, etc.) and ability to analyze Clients Specifications and standards.
  16. Expansion/stress analysis. Knowledge of basic principles of stress analysis design criteria regarding typical load conditions, stress calculations, comparison criteria with admissible values, minimum pipeline elastic bends calculation, anchor blocks design criteria. Capability to perform calculation relevant to expansion/stress analysis in order to allow flexibility and piping support location.
  17. Piping engineering design. Basic knowledge and capability to develop plant layout and equipment layout according to process requirements defined on PFD or P&ID and in accordance to the engineering good practices: developing the single line structure to lay the piping distribution and the equipment elevation
  18. Plant design. Knowledge of Piping/Electrical/Instrumental/Civil basic terminology and rules.

BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTIONS

  1. Ensure the Piping and Layout engineering support to different projects
  2. Ensure the achievement of assigned goals and the fulfilment of project quality requirements and contractual obligations
  3. Analyze technical documents (e.g. specifications, calculation notes, drawings) to assess the scope of the studies required and the potential risks
  4. Seek solutions which can bring overall savings to the project
  5. Estimate quantities or validate estimation done by other specialist of the team

  14. Attend to internal review activities and inter-discipline check meetings
  15. Provide technical support to Project group
  16. Provide technical support to Procurement, Subcontracting and Construction activities included in the scope of work
  17. Supervise the writing of specifications and requisitions as well as technical bid evaluations
  18. Inform on a permanent basis the Project Piping and Layout leader of any foreseen technical or financial or delay risk
  19. Feed the Piping and Layout Department improvement system by reverting the lessons learned during the project E - Construction and start up
